Anchor Brewing — one the country’s oldest craft breweries — yesterday announced the release of a limited edition San Francisco Giants 12-pack. Anchor’s relationship with the major league ballclub also includes a taproom and luxury suite inside the team’s stadium.
The commemorative pack features the team’s colors and logos along with the brews and baseball history notes printed on an interior flap. Fans are also encouraged to cut along the sides of the box for instant Giants signage. A complete Giants season schedule is also printed on the underside of the box. It is available at select retailers in northern California, Nevada, southern Oregon, and Hawaii for a suggested retail price of $15.
To help celebrate the partnership, Anchor released a short documentary detailing the history of beer and baseball in San Francisco. A shortened version of the video will also be shown to fans at select Giants home games throughout the 2013 season.
Recall that in February, Anchor Brewing announced a brewery expansion project to be located across from AT&T Park where the Giants currently play. Construction is slated to begin in late 2014 and the project will quadruple Anchor’s annual production capacity from 180,000 to 680,000 barrels. It’s part of the $1.6 billion Mission Rock Development Project — a mixed use urban neighborhood spearheaded by the Giants.
